REBA McENTIRE RENEWS AGREEMENT WITH MCA RECORDS/NASHVILLE

Extends Agreement to Include Motion Picture and Television Production with Universal Studios
Nashville, Tennessee, Feb. 6, 1997. Country music superstar Reba McEntire has entered into a new long term contract with MCA Records/Nashville, it was announced today by Bruce Hinton, Chairman, MCA Records/Nashville.
The new agreement re-signs Ms. McEntire to her long time label. Additionally, her production company, Starstruck Films, will develop film and television projects for Ms. McEntire to star in and produce. Starstruck Films will be based at Universal Studios, with Shelley Browning as Head of Production.
In making the announcement, Mr. Hinton said, “We are thrilled to continue our long-standing relationship with Reba, and pleased that it has led to the broader opportunities available to this multi-talented artist within the Universal family.”
Doug Morris, Chairman, Universal Music Group, said, “Reba has been an important part of the music group for many years. We’re both proud and excited that she has renewed her association with us. Her success as a recording artist has helped Bruce , label President Tony Brown and their team build MCA/Nashville into the #1 country label.”

During her 14 year tenure at MCA/Nashville, Reba McEntire has become the #1 selling female country artist of all time, with total sales in excess of 38 million records. She has released 25 #1 singles and is ranked as the #8 overall best selling artist in all genres since the inception of SoundScan in 1991. She’s a multiple Grammy Award winner, has been named Entertainer of the Year by both the CMA and ACM Awards, and has been voted “Favorite Female Musical Performer” by the People’s Choice Awards three of the past five years. Her stage show is legendary, and it has been one of the Top 10 Grossing Tours in all genres for the past five years. In 1996, she had the largest arena tour on the road and played to over one million people.
During the 1990’s, Reba McEntire has evolved as a true show business phenomenon. Her musical specials for television, Reba and Friends and Reba: Starting Over, were solid hits. Roles in the motion pictures Tremors, North, and The Little Rascals, as well as the television movies Buffalo Girls, The Gambler Returns, The Man From Left Field, and Is There Life Out There, brought her increasing attention as an actress. Additionally, she published her best selling autobiography, Reba: My Story, in 1994.
